"...I saw a picture of them in a catalogue. It's one of those cheap passport photos, made in the automatic machines on the street. It shows a pair of heads competing for the little space available and they both look determined straight ahead, to the hidden focus: "she" in front, "he" partially hidden behind her; "she" appears slightly out of focus in order to focalize "him", as a good mother does with her handsome son; "he" more "pastore" (= shepherd) - neapolitan urchin who hides behind "her", more "bovina" (= cow) of the Po Valley.

Partners in the names, partners in art, partners in business: partners of iron, oxide and stoneware; together they seem to build a pillar in the contemporary experimentation in ceramics, where "she" is the iron of the pillar, "he" the stoneware, both with oxides and wood, as in many of the their works".
